Hey everybody i currently own a gen3 integra from 97 with 196000kms on it and it has been smoking alot recently and also blew out a very rich smell out of the exaust, i cant tell if its fuel or oil as im still an ametuer and i dont plan on spending money to bring it to the mechanics. the car smokes after warming up and after checking the coolant and the oil, nothing seems to lead to a head gasket problem other than the smoke. the coolant is clean with no bubbles including the cap, the oil is still transparent and doesnt have any milky or coolant contamination. the car runs fine and doesnt feel like its losing power. BUT the spark plug wells have a very tiny bit of oil in them but i looked down the bottom and i cant see much oil. i cant do a compression test because my battery is weak.
have to get the car in good condition before i take it for a roadworthy
any help is appreciated thanks
Could be that you have water condensation in your exhaust that begins to evaporate once the exhaust warms up. But then you would expect it to stop smoking after some time. If your spark plugs look wet, it could be fuel, not oil. What color is the smoke? If it's black then you are running too reach.
Greyish means black only many shades lighter, from my understanding. Your car must not be burning all of it's fuel - reach condition. It's time for a tune-up.
The car isn't burning oil. Coolant level stays the same. Doesn't overheat. You don't have a blown head gasket. The color of the smoke (if grey) means your car needs a tune-up (new air filter, spark plugs, distributor rotor and cap). Goodluck.
