New Ride (99 GSR)

Hello everyone, I was going to post this in the "New Member Section" but apparently it is down at the moment.

Recently purchased a 99 GSR, to replace my Subaru.

I'll be the first to say that Acura/Honda are a little foreign to me. But, I don't plan on doing anything to complex to the GSR as it will be my daily driver. Beyond polishing blades, changing oil, filter, plugs, cables, ect... for starters.

I have to admit, there are a quite a few things I enjoy about the GSR over my old Subaru 2.5 RS.
-more trunk room (amazing)
-faster car (VTEC is cool)
-parts are more available and certainly cheaper (I like cheap!)

As of now my only future plans for the GSR are to upgrade the I/H/E

Intake: I have read and researched the crap out of this, but due to lack of funds I think I going to end up doing a DIY icebox for now. Ebay SRI(for the pipe), K&N filter to fit into the airbox, and then remove the resonator and reroute the airbox pipe for some cold air. Down the road I'd like to get a "whale penis" or a AEM CIA, but I live in the PNW where is rains 8 months out of the year and hydro lock kinda scares me. Thus, I am leaning towards the "whale penis".

Headers: JDM ITR 4-1 or DC Sports 4-1 seems to be the way to go...even though I know i'll have to buy a new cat or do some welding in order to make it work.

Exhaust: I would prefer to go with an Apexi WS-2 or a Tanabe Medalion, but there is no way I can justify spending $500 - $600 for exhaust. So, I thinking Yonaka cat back is the route to go...mainly because it only $250, quiet, and has some pretty decent reviews.

I am interested to know if I am making a mistake with any of the following upgrades, or if anyone has better suggestions.

Welcome! Nice find the on GSR. Interested in the pictures. Simple bolt ons won't yield much unless you know how much power you want out of it. A tune would help but that would require converting to OBD1. Either way I/H/E will still be a blast around town. Pictures!
