Post #DC2H22-45

Here is a comparison between the Teg (on the left) and Prelude door panels. Note the different dash overlap areas at the front of the panels. Fortunately the teg panel has a larger overlap area. Also note how the window switch area is curved on the teg panel and flat on the Prelude.

This view shows the same two panels from above (teg panel on right) with the rear of the panels lined up. The teg door panel and window opening is over an inch longer than the Prelude.

This view shows the flat Prelude window switch panel mounted to the curved teg door panel. I had to enlarge the hole in the panel quite a bit. Note the aluminum brackets holding the switch panel in place.

Thanks,
Dave

This look nice. Loving it soo much. All though I wish you would have put the Scoops inplace of the rear quater glass(Backseat Passengers View) Like the GT500 mustangs. But thats my thing.

so dave, how are you going to correct the fitment of the prelude dash to the teg door panels? ive actually been wondering this for a while, since i saw you do the dash retrofit.

are you just going to fiberglass the gp left between the teg panel and the lude dash? anyway, like you said, your are lucky the shapes are the way they are and not the other way around...

after seeing the comparison of the door panels it just looks like you will have a gap which is better than parts bumping up against each other or scrubbing. If it ever mattered I think you could fill it pretty esily somehow be it fiberglass as JustTegIt suggested or whatever. Just trying to help adress any problems you run into along the way. I'm dying to see how this turns out, this is the most amazing car project I've ever followed. Keep it up Dave.

hey dave those alternate part numbers mean that it has two different companys that make the part that are used by honda . they do this with there main and rod bearings too, i got really confused by it untill i understood that it didnt really matter it was just a different oem manufacturer so just pick one of the two either way your going to get the same thing.

Great idea! I can just add padding under the vinyl to the shape of the Prelude dash. Neat idea. I like it.

Thanks,
Dave

I have a question regarding the rear window defogger switch. Does the switch latch in when pressed, then pop out when pressed again, or is it a momentary switch? (The switch was missing when I bought the car, so I have no clue.)

Thanks,
Dave

Well, it seems you have the Lude dash (and no other better person to ask but me (= lol )..

every switch on the Prelude dash latches except for:

1) Moonroof toggle
2) Dimmer switch
3) Rear defogger (what you are asking)

Every other switch pushes in and latches (exception of A/C, it must be on for it to latch I think)

So it is a momentary switch, and does not latch.
