I've seen a B series motor with 200hp N/A go up to 212 with just a change to a bisimoto custom header - same day, same dyno, no tune. Guy is a guru.
In the DIY spirit of this car, the new owner should fabricate an equal length header himself. Bisimoto headers aren't doing anything new other than bringing high performance header design to the import scene.

Air to water is the best way to go with MR. Especially because you can run the heat exchanger up front with the undisturbed rad

I sold it to a friend of mine in Raleigh last year, and he sold it to a collector in Connecticut. I haven't heard a peep from the current owner.

Wow... Just read this whole thread again over the last 3 days. It's great pre-during-post Turkey Day vegging out reading as I think more about my own project.

Dave, I have to thank you again for being so meticulous in your record keeping of pretty much every part of the design and engineering of this truly one-of-a-kind vehicle.

I'll take some time to collect my thoughts and re-read certain sections of this thread before asking some more technical questions.

In any case, I hope you've had and are continuing to have a good Thanksgiving holiday. And that goes to all of you TI'ers.

Makes me want to re-read it just for the hell of it. It also makes me miss Steve's coding that could be set to only show posts by a certain user within a thread.

^ Yes...

I basically read through the whole thread, filtering out the important stuff I needed in a separate word document and then categorized the information according to the timeline for my project.

And... since the wife isn't awake yet on this Thanksgiving saturday, I've had some more time to collect some thoughts. Dave, when you have a moment, I'd appreciate your input on the following (no rush):

Is it one extra master cylinder per “rear” brake for the handbrake function?

How are the supposedly "isolated" hydraulic brake systems isolated IF one bad master cylinder can cause ALL of the brake functions to feel funky? Or am I misinterpreting this statement?

What type(s) of joints did you weld for the front horns? Butt joints or lap joints? Did you weld from above or underneath?

If lap joint, were the horns on top of the GSR frame or was the frame on top of the front horns?

That bump steer gauge looks kind of big. How heavy is it? Would it fit in the hatch of an '89 CRX?

What kind of jacking method did you use to get the frame seated so high on the jack stands? Was it a standard floor jack with a fat piece of wood to buy some height?

As always, your input is very much appreciated as you've done a lot of the hard work in your build.

I wouldn't use hydraulic e-brakes again. I would adapt a mechanical (cable) e-brake system. The hydraulic system works fine until the fluid cools off and partially releases the e-brake.

They were seam welded where the spot welded pieces overlap.

It's not heavy at all and should fit in the CRX. The box is 32"x23"x7".

Just stacked wood on the jack pad, and was careful to keep the load centered over the pad.

And more questions for you, haha!

In an attempt to save the chassis from multiple heat cycles, do you think tack welds every 6 inches or so would be enough to make fairly accurate measurements of bumpsteer and suspension travel or would they all change drastically when seam welded?

I ask this because what I don't want to have happen is seam weld everything and then realize something is off. The more checks and rechecks I can do without destroying the car along the way, the better. Thoughts?

Whatever you're welding should be well clamped, tacked in multiple places, then welded in short seams that move around on the part so as not to build up too much heat in one spot.
