^^^ theres actually a bit more space there than you would think...basically if you look at the back for where the partition board folds down on a stock teg is how much room dave has.

yeah the engine is kinda where the backseat used to be... its amazingly badass and there is decent sized trunk room because of the situation of the engine compartment... it reminded me a lot of the way the cockpit of an s2k is laid out, as far as space goes.

I don't know if this has been asked since its such a huge thread! I was wondering why you went with the H22 after all the money and time you put into the car instead of a K series motor?

Either way car is amazing and the work is top notch I wish I had those kinds of skills.

Story got picked up on autoblog.

Free publicity for Team-Integra and Dave. I recommend not reading the user comments section unless you want to feel like punching an ignorant a-hole in the face. It sounds like some people didn't read TFA and realize that there was some actual engineering involved in Dave's build.

Anyway, while I'm already posting: Dave, this project is simply an amazing combination of engineering and craftsmanship. Simply awesome!

Post #DC2H22-116

What a great trip out to California for the Eibach Meet! Five days out, four days there, and 4 days back. The trip out was 2795 miles and the trip back, including local driving, was 2848 miles. I averaged 28.2 mpg with a high of 31.7 and a low of 25.0. The car performed flawlessly the entire trip.

The first person I met on the road was Patrick Smith in Memphis.

We had dinner at Chiliís and he took these great pictures.

I meant to take pictures of all of the state welcome signs, but the first time I remembered to do it was crossing the Mississippi into Arkansas.

I didnít get a pic of Oklahoma, but this was the view entering Texas.

The Texas panhandle is so flat and treeless, you can see the horizon in all directions.

I met Phong Lee (datgsr) in Amarillo, TX at ďThe Big TexanĒ restaurant. Theyíre famous for having a 72oz. steak dinner, that is free if you can eat it all in 60 minutes. Phong is a great guy and bought lunch and a tank of 93 octane. Thanks Phong!

The scenery didnít change much going into New Mexico.

Entering Arizona, the scenery was quite a bit different.

By the time I got to California, it was pure desert. Based on radio weather reports, it was somewhere between 103 and 106 F crossing the Mojave. The water temp. never budged.

Mike (Mike97LS) came over to the motel in Albuquerque Wednesday evening for a visit and I was so dog-tired, I completely forgot to take any pictures. I had planned on staying Thursday night in Kingman, AZ but made such good time from Albuquerque, I was there by 1:00pm so decided to go on to Barstow, CA. From Barstow, I made it to Jonathanís in Murrieta by lunchtime Friday.

Iíll post another installment tomorrow covering the happenings at Jonathanís and the Eibach meet.

Cheers!
Dave
