you can (for the most part) control the destiny of the front of your car, but the rear end is what's controled by others..
for example, if you leave a propor distance and arent speeding exessively, you should just about never have any problems hitting anyone from behind.

but you could be stopped at a light and someone rams you from behind, it happened to my dad.
id much rather have the engine in the back..

ok let's just drop the crash thing. It doesn't matter and has gone on long enough.

Here are some pics of what Iíve been working on over the holidays. This is only a pattern, or template, for the final design. You have to imagine the exhaust coming out above the ďGILEĒ section.




In this shot you can see strakes numbered 1 and 2. The top of those will be against the bottom of the bumper, and the exhaust comes out between the two strakes. You may also notice the gap between the center section and the top of the strakes. This is to enhance evacuation of air from the engine compartment. Iíve already started making the diffuser out of ABS, so stay tuned for more details.

Do you have any plans of putting this thing in a wind tunnel dave? It would be awesome to see exactly how effective these aerodynamic mods are.

pretty sure wind tunnel time would put him way outside his budget.

As stated above, windtunnel time is way out of the budget. I am planning to tell-tail half the car and video tape it from a chase vehicle. only thing is, I need a nice wide (4 lanes), empty stretch of interstate. I40 from Raleigh to RTP is plenty wide but it might be hard to find a big enough hole in the traffic in the daylight.

As Steve can attest to, I found a nice stretch of I-40 on the way back from the dragon that cut my trip time down by like 2 hours.
