I know it has been said a million different ways but...OUTSTANDING!

That looks so sweet going down the road! I am incredibly happy for you that this project has come along so well, and now so far...

I can't wait to see what direction you take it as time goes on.

Congratulations on an incredible job well done!

Philip

My question is how well does it/will it perform on an autocross or 1/4 mile track. I mean, the physics and dynamics of both the engine and car itself are changed so dramatically. Would love to see videos of a test run.

That would be the wider in back prelude suspension...

plus the perfectly executed rear quarter panel wide body that Dave did

Wow this is the most in depth project I have seen. I dont think there are too many people out there that would have finished this project int the amount of time you have. Most people would probably have gotten frustrated and given up. Congradulations on the great job, the beautiful teg. Dave keep up the good work and good luck with the buisness.

Post #DC2H22-100

I finished installing some sound deadening material under the engine cover this week. This shot shows the under side of the hood.

These are the inside of the front and rear removable panels.

I also installed a set of harnesses for the track event at Roebling Road this coming weekend. This is a pic of the bottom side of the seat pan showing the slot cut for the sub. belt.

This shot shows the same slot from the inside, or top, of the seat pan.

The next two pics show the reinforcement for the mounting bolt, and a stress relief tube welded to the seat pan.

This shows the slot cut into the seat pad.

Here is the assembled seat bottom with sub. bet installed.

This pic shows the sub. belt sticking up through the seat cover. I used a soldering iron to melt the slot in the cover so the material wouldn’t fray.

I also made this reinforcing bar for the shoulder belts, to tie their mounting points back to the left rear shock tower.

The completed installation is shown here.

These pics show the finished engine cover.

You can see the shoulder belt tie bar in this shot.

And finally, the rear panel.

I went down to Wilmington to the Honda/Acura dealer yesterday to get another key made. Turns out they can duplicate an immobilizer key without reprogramming the ECU, which is convenient, but expensive. I asked the guy at the parts counter that made the key to come out and have a look at the car while I tested the new key. The only thing I had told him was that the key was for a ’97 Prelude. I cranked the engine, and he didn’t say anything, so I opened up the back and asked him to check something else out for me. Well, when he saw what was going on, he was shocked, but then wanted to see the whole thing opened up. Within about 3 minutes, both the Honda and Acura service departments had emptied into the parking lot to have a look. They agree that Honda should be building a car like this!

Cheers!
Dave
