Post #DC2H22-98

Carlo (itzcarloooo), with TunerZimage.com, made me a deal on a polyurethane ITR lip. Most of you have probably seen
his FS: 94-97 TR lips $125 shipped! thread, and this ITR Lip Installation thread for 94-97 models. These threads contain links to installations for 98 and up models also. Carlo has great customer service and fast shipping.

I wanted to mount the lip lower on the bumper, which meant making my own brackets. These pics show the bumper sitting upside down with the lip mounted.

I made the brackets out of x1/16 aluminum and added an extra bend in the middle because I wanted them to be weaker than the lip. If the lip happens to hit something, hopefully the brackets will bend and give instead of breaking or tearing the lip. replacing the brackets is much cheaper than a new lip.

This pic shows the lip at 3-5/8 below the joint in the bumper. In the installation thread linked above, the distance is 2-5/8.

These pics show how the top edge of the lip fits into the indentation at the bottom of the bumper.

This is how the lip looks painted and installed.

Thanks to everyone for your comments and support, and Im working on getting more videos posted.

Cheers!
Dave

mmmmmmm

Give it a little bit of time, and that paint will probably match much better.

Did you use the same paint you used on the car? Like..same mix and everything?

This car is simply beautiful. I can't wait for you to come and post up about how someone asks you to show them your engine and you pop the trunk!

Good question, and the answer is yes, I used some of the paint I had left over. The car will get an all over paint job in early October, and that will fix the "dalmatian" problem I have.

Thanks,
Dave

Looking at that picture of your front bumper and that you didn't shave the emblem holes, even though you are using mostly honda parts (engine, etc) I think you should design your own emblem, since it's YOUR custom car. I think it would be cool, you designed mostly everything else except the frame, body panels, engine, etc. You get what I'm sayin..

I get what you're saying. I have an "A" like this to cover the holes in the front bumper.

Thanks,
Dave
