what are your reasons for picking the h22a? was it because of the availability?

my guess would be because it has more tq then a b18b, b18c1/c5....Because the motor will have to push the car not pull it now.

wheelstanding contest... i can see it now. mmmm.

Dave you are amazing. Converting your car, creating your own tools, and even making a STSystem, You have a creative mind and dont let that ever go to waste. Keep building those H22MRTEGs

first off, Dave, GREAT job!!! you've done things that would make me throw my hands up in an ADD induced frustration! the fact that you have the patents, let alone the know how, to even COMPREHEND this level of build quality, makes me wonder why I'm not under my own car right now. Also the fact that you are doing this pretty much cause you can, TOTALLY kicks ass. Also the fact that you are putting some of your time aside to document this glorious project for us makes this a true work of art.

after 121 pages of reading, I came up with some questions... unfortunately, most of them have been forgotten, but I do have some. I read that you were going to put carpeting in the engine bay. If so, for what purpose? or did I just read wrong? I know that third gen integras where built with some crash worthiness in mind. With all the cutting and welding, has the thought of what happens in the VERY unfortunate event of an accident ever crossed your mind, and if so, what kinda of safety features are you looking into. I'd hate for such a genius to get seriously injured, and with drivers these days, you never really know.

Again, I thank you for sharing this wonderful build with us, and I'm sure we'll all be as happy as you are when it has come to completion... good luck, and God speed!

Thanks for your encouraging words. The carpet will be on the outside of the engine cover, inside the cabin. I had crash worthiness very much in mind while designing and building the structure.

Thanks again,
Dave

I love this part. Look, he's already done the hood cable relocation.
Now I think about it: what if thieves tried to steal this car, managed to open the hood first, didn't see the engine, would they walk away? lol
