This is an amazing project! Thank you for sharing your progress and thoughts!
Regarding updating the thread, definitely keep it all in one thread regardless of how large it becomes. The indexing of your replies is fantastic. More than enough organization in that trick alone. And as far as taking the time to update us, I'm certain that we would all rather see the project completed with less frequent update, instead of updates on how the project is NOT completed! Again, thanks for sharing all of this! Amazing work, and good luck!!! (As far as a name how about Integra MR-22? That's kind of exactly what it is, isn't it?)

Post #DC2H22-15
Progress this week was to get the UCA's mounted and the spring buckets roughed in. Left rear UCA mount. ![]() ![]() Right rear UCA mount. ![]() ![]() Right rear at "calculated" ride height. I measured the spring and came up with a calculated rate of 212 lbs./in., which has an element of error due to determining the number of turns exactly. I later found a post in a Prelude forum which said the spring rate was 202 lbs./in....close enough for me! ![]() Right rear wheel well. ![]() Right rear with spring bucket. ![]() Left rear with spring bucket and motor mount ![]() Left rear at full droop. I left the spring on this shock to use for spring to UCA clearance and full droop ride height measurements. ![]() Left rear at full droop showing about +2 degrees camber. ![]() Right rear at calculated ride height. I removed the spring from one of the shocks to use for suspension travel measurements. The top edge of the green tape around the shock body indicates half the shock travel. ![]() Right rear at calculated ride height showing -1 degree camber. ![]() Left quarter showing where I cut out the fuel door bucket. I'll cut another hole the same size towards the front of the quarter, about 4-5" behind the driver's door opening, for the fuel door bucket and use that piece to fill this hole. The MR2 fuel tank inlet (if I end up using it) will be just behind the driver's doorpost. ![]() ![]() No contacts from potential sponsors or magazines yet...any suggestions on whom would be interested in this project are welcome. Thanks, Dave |
