Default DIY: DA9 jdm one piece black housing headlights

Hello all DA lovers, this is a step by step guide to spice up your one piece headlights. I came across a set that were tired, so I thought they were the perfect candidate for this little project.

**I won't cover headlight removal as it is readily available in your Helm's manual or online.

Tools required:

- Oven ( hope you guys are lucky enough to have one)
- Small flat head screwdriver
- Black spray paint of your choice. I used Duplicolor trim paint as it gives that flat black oem look.

Okay, first things first. Take that flathead screwdriver and pry the snap clips off of the headlight housing. Be careful, they like to fly every which way then removing them.

After doing so, you can now preheat your oven to 200 degrees. Once its nice and warm, put on your cute oven mits and give your headlight a good warm up.

I took mine in and out until it was just hot enough to separate the lens.

This is what you should ultimately be left with

Now, it's on to masking. This is the part where you take your time. Mask it out carefully so your paint lines will be crisp and sharp.

I did one quick coat then followed it by two wet coats. When the paint becomes tacky, throw it right back in the oven for a few so It'll cure nice.

Clean out the channels in the headlights and reinstall lens. Don't forget to add clear silicone to seal them back up.

Finished product. Could use a polish but that's for another night.
