Hello Team-Integra.net
i've been around forever on t-i.net but haven't really posted that much. i like to absorb information than give it for the mots part, knowing that there are much more knowledgeable people on these boards than me.
however, here is one topic that is not covered on here. I plan on doing a complete review of the hardrace bushing kit and PIC Apex Coilovers from ordering experience, shipping time, price consideration, arrival, installation, and performance review.
I purchased a bunch of things for a complete suspension overhaul on my 99 ls. The list includes:
1. Hardrace Suspension Bushing Kit from the buyhardrace.com
2. PIC Apex Coilovers (8kF/6kR) from honda-tech vendor modernhonda
3. Centric Premium Rotors and Axxis Ultimate Brake Pads from Jeff at ProPartsUSA
my goal was to completely overhaul the suspension, front and rear. Also, my RTA bushings were shot and making a horrible noise when hitting bumps.
I purchased several tools for this project.
1. Harbor Freight 12 ton press (the orange one)
2. Craftsman MicroTork Torque Wrench
3. Ryobi angle grinder
I also purchased many replacement parts in terms of bolts and acura parts. Like many, i had several seized bolts stuck in the old bushing sleeves which required cutting. No matter since all the bushings and bolts were going to be replaced anyway.
I also decided to paint everything. I chose a very tacky color on purpose since noone is ever going to see the suspension arms. I chose a bright chrome color for all the suspension arms and used a rubberized undercoat for the RTAs. I also applied the rubberized undercoat to all the wheel wells and underside of the tag. While i was at it, i also painted several other things such as the brake calipers, brake caliper brackets, heat sheilds, etc. The wheels (gsr snowflakes) got sanded down and received a newer gunmetal like color. I also replaced basically every M6 and M8 bolt on the car with newly adonized grade 10.9 flange bolts. (mcmaster.com only sells in multiples of 50, so i thought why not)
well, i'll post later with pictures of everything.
currently, everything is drying and everything will be assembled starting tomorrow.
stay tuned!
