2016 Acura NSX First Look Video

Quote:
After years of anticipation Acura has finally revealed its new NSX supercar at the Detroit Auto Show with plenty of details.

Unfortunately those details donít include the one particular statistic fans are most desperate for: horsepower.

True, a car is far more than just a three digit number. The original NSX proved that, challenging Ferraris of its era with just 270 hp. Still, engine output is plenty important.

Electric motors for the rear driveline plus two extra on each front wheel? The acceleration is going to be insane on this thing.

I love the side mount intercoolers with the functional side scoop ducting to cool those heat exchangers as well.

Looks like Acura waited long enough to get it right with this one. I will be waiting to see what comes of these as they make their way into the aftermarket world.

I wonder if it has a similar sequential gearbox design to the TLX-GT...

I knew I should have done more of the social events at NSXPO... D'oh!

Manual trannies just aren't realistic in super cars any more. Humans can't shift fast enough for them.

Do me a favor. From now on don't care what other people think about your car. Do what YOU want to your car. Who gives a damn what other people think about it.

Was and still am completely aware of that, been a huge exotic/sports car fan from a very young age and follow multiple racing events. Semi-manual just isn't nearly as interactive and thus less enjoyable. Albeit a lot faster.

So they GTR-ed us with a huge price tag. Oh well. Hopefully this will bring down the price of the older NSX models to a more reasonable level.

For what you get, 150k isn't really that bad. And the first gen NSX's are pretty reasonable:
Only 50,000 miles on this one.

Wow it's only 150k?
Honestly I'm quite surprised and expected it to be much higher seeing how it seemed (to me anyways) that they were going after the big 3 hyper-hybrid cars including the 918, LaFerrari and P1 but I suppose they are just giving us a taste of it for a much lower price.

Very welcome news indeed
Now about that bigger piggybank....
