i had problems with mine when i swapped the dashboard out... turns out, these cars a extreamly finicky with ground connections... the problem lies in the harness or the connecting points.... especially if youve already changed evertything.... dont give up... youll find it

Sry reposted below tested the ground wires at the computer and the ignition signal wire which is two yellow green wires for continuity and they are good just no signal from the computer itself.
Think we found it the computer is not sending a signal to the distributor unless we ground the wire out. problem is we checked all the grounds again to the computer and the main relay according to the diagram and they are all good no issues but the Yellow green wire which from the computer is not have any signal when trying to start the car. So we checked the wire itself and it was ok. So it has to be the computer I had rebuilt is bad. Last edited by tward14; 04-18-2012 at 09:32 PM. Reason: Errors is description |

We did find that if we ground out the yellow green wire which is the one that has the input signal to the distributor we get spark when cranking.
so we did some ground testing via an oem wiring diagram and everything shows to be ok. Ground good to main relay Ground good to Computer Yellow Green wires for ignition signal from computer to distributor continuity is good so wire is not bad. So it has to be the new computer(Rebuilt) is no good no signal being sent. |

There is a yellow with green stripped wire from the computer to the distributor.
If you take a test light and ground it to your battery then neg and poke it it the backside of the port then try and crank I get spark again. Thought it would be ground issue but they have been tested and reseated etc and they are good. |

What happens if you take your test light and ground it to the engine while cranking with that green/white wire?
Does it still flash? If not you should make sure your main engine ground (transmission ground) is connected. Your car isn't going to run if the engine isn't grounded. |

Its fixed there was no signal from the computer because the people that rebuilt the computer forgot to solder the power circuit.
As far as what caused it all indications was bad distributor had severly corroded wires inside behind the coil. |
