Ect sensor related to AT shifting

Hi TI

Recently i start to have very low mpgs around 13 on city, to make story short i decide to replace my ect sensor and since i did the car shift smooth and feels lighter than before i searched and did not find any info at all if it could be a related issue or its just my imagination that if feels smoother on shifts.
