My car has a B20B swap and every time I pass about 5,200 rpms the tach goes crazy. I've done some research and it points to a bad distributor. Anything else I should check first? Also where can I get a replacement distributor and what would work? From what I've read any 99-00 B series distributor will work. Thanks in advanced for any help.

First, what year is the car? Secondly, what are you tuned on. I've had this same problem on Hondata S300 (obd1) when my tach worked just fine on the OBD2 ecu.
It might not be the distributor -- assuming nothing else fails to function (i.e. you CAN rev past 5200 no problem, just the tach goes crazy) |

I got the car about a week ago and I'm new to the Honda scene, so I am not 100% sure what ecu the car is on. The previous owner said it was on a P28 on Chrome, how can I check to be sure? The car is a 2000.

yes, erratic tachometer is link directly to the ignitor in the distributor. change it before you get stranded.
just buy a oem honda ignitor, you really dont want aftermarket ignition parts. i personally would re-do the ignition system with original acura oem parts for the sake of reliability: new ignitor, coil, cap, rotor, plugs and wires. keep old parts as backup.
