So i've been looking around on the forums and im looking to get back into the tuner game. Im set on a teg gs-r and i'm looking to spend about 5000 tops. I have two cars that i'm looking at, one might be worth going a little bit above my budget and the other i'm a little skeptical about.
Teg 1: 84,000 miles clean exterior/interior 1 owner no mods 6800 (seems high) Teg 2: 140,000 miles on chassis under 100 miles on b20z2 engine, outside is somewhat clean but def would need to be repainted. I'm skeptical on this one cause why would someone drop a new engine into the gs-r and not even break it in? it seems like somethings up but i'll find out more when i go look at it. Any advice would be great, thanks. |

I think the one owner one might be worth it, if you can knock the price down a bit. What year is it? I paid 4200 for a 120k one owner integra LS a few weeks ago with maintenance records, but I felt it was the right choice given the amount of trashed integras on my local craigslist, where it seemed the only good condition ones were automatic and all the manuals were in average to poor condition.

i'd go with the first option. although the price does seem a bit high, i'd try to haggle with him a bit.
I personally wouldn't pay anymore than $5,400 for a great condition inside and out, GSR.

they both sound kind of high, i just put the JDM front and b20z2 in my teg (still has original LS tranny) shell has about 110k on it, engine is less than 70k and id only ask 4500 for my car (front end is same color, but could use some touch ups and one fender needs a repaint) so unless that second one is under 4k both seem high
if you can get the 1 owner gsr under 6k id buy it since its stock, its a much better start than a modded car you dont know much about (trust me i started that way) but if you want to stay under 5k and have time to look id hold your money and keep looking GL however you choose

okay so after talking to both owners. teg 2 is just not even going to happen. I haggled the first teg to 6 g's which is still too high in my opinion. I think top dollar for me is 5500 for an unmodded clean inside and outside gs-r. the first teg is a 2000 gsr

thats not bad for a 2000 with those miles, it might be worth it. but if you show up with 5500 cash he will probably bite. GLWB
