Yes, every blocks main caps are matched for that block specifically. You can get then machined though.
I have a couple spare main caps from my damaged block And a girdle.. But 100 for a b18c5 block is very cheap, even bare, but sometimes you do find deals. Just make sure it's in order. No cracked sleeves, or wear around where the bearings go , or anything unuasual. Otherwise sounds like a deal. Shoot me a p.m if you want the main caps n girdle for the low low lol

Yah I knew they where matched and that you could have them machined. He has a GSR crank for $100 more but it looks like it has spun bearing damage in the pictures. The cylinder walls are clean. Heres a link to some pics->Klik
My plans are to sleeve the block, but I've been wondering if i should just do a ls/v with the sleeves? Is there any benefit to the b18c block? Are the oil squirters still there after? |

I'm just really debating between trying to put this together or trying to buy a buddy's B16 /w built head, JRSC, Injectors, and ECU for $1500. I trust him so I know it's in good condition too.

I'm confused - the magic of the R block is all in the crankshaft. The block isn't special.
No R crank? Not a good deal after you find mains and get it line honed. The R crank is what you want, lighter, more counterweights. |

That's some good information. I didn't know that the R crank was that much better. I know the GSR is good for a range of about 600hp and I've seen people running the LS crank even pretty high. But I can only imagine how much one costs!
